Southern Colorado gets a lot of snow. Naturally, you'd think people would flock to the area to ride in chest deep snow in the beautiful San Juan mountain range. But all thats down there are a couple washed up mining towns and a group of hardcore skiing enthusiasts who live their life doing this everyday. I hadn't been down in the area since climbing Mt. Sneffles last spring but couldn't wait to get back down there despite the 8 hour drive from Denver. Here are some highlights from two days riding with the DU Alpine Club at Silverton and Wolf Creek...
